We stayed in the hotel. A clean and beautiful room. Lovely terraces. Not too cavy! Good restaurant. Ahmet took us around for a very enjoyable day through Soganli valley, Mustafapasa, the Jewelry center, ending up with an adorable tea with him. Just make sure you are clear about tour fees, otherwise "jests" may appear in your bill. Selcuklu Evi is a beautifully and sensitively restored boutique hotel in a convenient location.
The garden is a tranquil haven after long days of exploring the surrounding areas. The service is excellent: helpful and personal but without being intrusive. The food is also a delight - we had planned to look around the restaurants in the area during our four-day stay but were convinced otherwise by our first dinner: excellent meze and very good main courses. The breakfast gozleme were also a treat. Highly recommended. Definitely the best hotel we stayed in during our trip to Turkey. The owner treated us warmly and made us feel at home.
He welcomed us with a complimentary drink and lunch while he showed us all the options we had for sightseeing. Service was amazing. For example, we noticed that our bed was squeaking. The noise was annoying so we let the hotel clerk know. Late at night when we arrived, we were delighted to see that the issue had been already fixed.
We had dinner at the restaurant one night and we loved our main courses. It's worth mentioning that salad bar with plenty of healthy options comes free with every entree. We would definitely recommend this hotel to all our friends. This is how 'boutique' hotels should be: beautifully designed, close attention to detail, and excellent staff from the owners, Halil and his wife, downwards.
The waiting staff are well-trained and the buffet dinner at the hotel was excellent value. The hotel is up on a hillside about five to ten minute's quite steep walk from the centre of town. If you don't want to walk, taxis are cheap about 10 Turkish Lira to the far side of the town , and come quickly when called.
