As allies of the Slut Walk Rotterdam, we JOIN FORCES to: condemn gender based violence and harassment, advocate for more holistic safe spaces, raise awareness on rape and assault, formalize a non fixed ethic code for the Slut Walk Rotterdam , that stems from a common conception of intersectional feminism. This code of conduct was written as a tool to communicate and articulate our values, principles and required attitudes for the march.
As it is not a comprehensive solution to merely write and read this content, we commit to implementing this in our internal and external communication, training and sensibilisation of volunteers, and education of participants. It is our mission to facilitate a public space where participants of all intersections feel comfortable to claim their space, express the way they like and to RESIST.
Recently more and more marches have included trans women as well. We are aware that many cases of gender-based violence are connected to heteronormativity.
On top of the western gender system, neo-colonialism, racism and xenophobia are also mechanisms that induce violence towards Womxn, queer people and people of colour. For this Slut Walk we mindfully organize this event to speak out about violence done to all Womxn, especially those with more vulnerable identity intersectionscheck the ethics section for more on this topic.
This content is written before the Slut Walk and will be adapted and evaluated afterwards. It is not a set of rules for an in definite time period, but an articulation of a current state global ideology.
